I have to say that growing up with the sand at my fingertips, and toes for that matter, was probably one of the most amazing life lessons. The beach – the smell and the sound of it – it brings me back to that happy, carefree and relaxed state of mind that I had as a child. It’s magical how it can immediately make everything better, erasing all stress and making me feel genuine and complete. It’s an incredible feeling, and it’s my addiction. The sea, the sand, the sun and the surf – it makes me who I am. I have to thank New Smyrna Beach for that, it is – after all – my heart and soul.
NSB will always hold that special place in my heart, my first crush if you will. Probably one of the most amazing things to date, is that it has remained a small town packed full of consistent waves, friendly locals, delicious food and a fun nightlife on historic Flagler Avenue. It’s no surprise that when National Geographic did an article on the World’s 20 Best Surf Towns – New Smyrna was sure to make the cut. If you don’t believe me…and even if you do – take a look at this article, it’s a must read. Generations of my family have come from this amazing city and I am lucky enough to still have it close to my backyard! Beach bum, mermaid, surfer girl, bikini slayer….yes, I respond to all of them! If you need me, I’ll be at the beach!!
