The Virgin Islands have stolen my heart. I always say that the close of a vacation is bittersweet….the fun is over, time to say goodbye to all the new friends you’ve met and make the places you’ve visited a page in your memory book. It’s a step back to reality, and well…while living at the beach is not bad at all (it’s quite amazing in fact)… traveling to exotic, beautiful and breathtaking places makes it difficult to ever want to return home.
I had the pleasure of taking a girls trip to St. Thomas and we stayed with a friend who lives on the island in a remarkable villa near Megan’s Bay. The activities were endless. We worshiped the sun, we hiked…and heck, I even did cartwheels. I was that happy!
We chartered a boat and hopped around to the nearby islands…St. John, Sandy Spit, Jost Van Dyke, etc. Our boat captain, Ocean, was incredible. As we sailed across the amazing blue water, he told us the history of many of the islands. We stopped for a bite, some cocktails, drank out of fresh coconuts cut down by Ocean, and even met Foxy himself, owner of the World famous Foxy’s in Jost Van Dyke!
Definitely a trip that I will never forget. And I certainly can’t wait to return and explore the islands more. Everyone was so kind and friendly – which made it that much more pleasurable. Here are a few of my favorite pics….more to follow soon! Hope you enjoy.
