Do you want glistening skin, a healthy lifestyle and an energizing day? Approximately 70% of our body’s mass is made of water and according to a number of doctors, drinking a total of eight glasses of water a day fulfils the necessary requirement of this liquid our body demands. If you are inquisitive like me, I have always wondered why eight was the magic number. Apparently, the old suggestion to drink eight glasses a day was nothing more than a guideline, not based on scientific evidence. But don’t put your water bottle or glass down just yet. While we may not need eight glasses, here a few reasons to drink plenty of water..check it out.

Just be sure to keep an eye on and limit your intake of dehydrating foods and beverages such as caffeine (cola, chocolate, coffee, tea) and alcohol.

Water is an essential component required for the effective working of our body since body parts including our brain and the various tissues are mostly composed of water. Considering this, water can significantly improve our ability to think and make us energetic too. Who doesn’t need that extra little push at the gym or during your outdoor activities!

  • Great advise, Bikini Slayer!
    A great little tip before you go to the beach or before your workout – The night before, freeze a couple of water bottles, filling them only half way full. Before you leave, fill them full of water. You will have ice cold water for several hours and still have more liquid to drink once the ice melts. It’s great and refreshing!
