I’m not the type of person that likes to fill my house with tchotchkes and knickknacks, but there’s a certain feeling – an almost juvenile excitement – when I score some little treasures at local beach shops. I used to steer clear of these places, because my ADD wouldn’t allow me to enter without wanting to straighten and organize the entire place. I know I know, I’ve since relaxed and realized that there’s so much more to take in when strolling along in a beach town, including the salty air and the quaint charm of the local businesses.
Take, for example, the radness of the these items. I’m a flamingo freak and practically live in the water – so a supa-fly floating flamingo coozie is a must have for my summer beachin! And what beach goer doesn’t love the retro and vintage feel of this little bus. I’m redoing my home office and this is a must have for a shelf – along with this badass shell chandelier. Bringing the beach – because it is so calm and relaxing – into my home office because there’s no place I would rather be – and the memories take me back to where I found the treasures.
Home office – that’s another post entirely. So stay tuned for some redecorating posts to follow – including my grandfathers roll top desk that he built in the 30’s. I’m stripping and refinishing – can’t wait to see the end result!
Lots to do and much to post about. Thanks for reading and following my little slice of life.
