Eat Your Veggies….Or Drink ‘Em Up!

Mom always said “Eat your vegetables”, and still, I would hide my peas under a biscuit or try to feed them to the dog – who would so graciously spit them out at my feet which, in turn, meant more peas on my plate. It’s funny how tastes change as you get older. I can say that I do like peas now – but there are some veggies that are so good for us that I just don’t like to eat with a fork.

But I still want to receive the nutritional benefit from said veggies, and to do so, I throw them in the good ol’ juicer. I am amazed at the enormous benefits that come from juicing. Beets in particular are packed full of powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatories and are known for boosting energy levels. When combined with other veggies with similar components, the results are outstanding.

Feeling a little down, stressed or under the weather? No matter what it is, juicing can and will help make you feel better! It’s astounding and I can attest – I’ve become a juice-aholic. My mom would be proud!! Here’s one of my favorite recipes – for a total pick me up. I must warn you, these juices don’t taste like smoothies straight out of a juice bar. The taste may not be the best and up to par, but the results far outweigh that in any case. These are all natural and no sugar added homemade juice recipes – straight up green goodness for ultimate results! Enjoy! Your body will thank you!!
